💃 VERDIALES Festival in Villanueva de la Concepción – PLAN AHEAD! 💃 Every August, Villanueva de la Concepción explodes with colour, music, and dance at the Verdiales Festival – one of Málaga’s most vibrant cultural events, officially recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest. Next year it should be Sat 8th August. Verdiales is a flamenco-style tradition unique to Málaga, with roots reaching back centuries. Pandas de Verdiales (groups of musicians and dancers) perform three styles – Comares, Almogía, and Montes – wearing dazzling hats decorated with mirrors, flowers, ribbons, and bells. Expect infectious music, spirited dancing, and an unforgettable Andalusian night that continues into the early hours. Villanueva’s festival has been running since 1981 and was the first to showcase the Pandas on stage, helping preserve this heritage.
